2023 AHO Golf Tournament

More than 50 golfers came out to support Aggies Helping Others Scholarship Program on Friday, April 14th, 2023 at The Golf Club at Cinco Ranch.

Fun was had by all, with golf, a wonderful lunch sponsored by Tejas Cookers, and a great acoustic concert by John Krajicek, and Aggie Former Students, BJ Gamez and Josh Stuckey.

Just over $7,600 was raised for the very special cause of supporting deserving students in the furtherance of their education.

Aggies Helping Others needs sponsors for the 2024 golf tournament (Title, Food & Beverage, Goodie Bags, etc.). Contact JD Daniel at: jddaniel@aggieshelpingothers.org

2022 AHO Golf Tournament

The 2022 golf tourney was another successful event to boost the AHO scholarship program!

AHO supporters and corporate sponsors continue to make an impact through their generous giving. Again this year AHO through its golf tourney raised thousands of dollars which will provide scholarships to deserving students in the Houston area, many of whom are first generation college students and might not attend college otherwise.

2021 AHO Golf Tournament

The 2021 AHO Charity Golf Tournament was a huge success, and our largest event ever! Thirteen teams of golfers participated, several businesses donated, and a silent auction was held, all which aided the goal of boosting the AHO Scholarship program.

The AHO Scholarship program benefits deserving Houston area students in need of a financial support to pursue their educational goals. AHO donates thousands in scholarships each year and the Charity Golf Tournament is our largest yearly fundraiser.

In 2020, Aggies Helping Others awarded scholarships totaling $1,700 to three deserving students. The recipients were selected based on their academic achievements, extracurricular activities, and demonstrated financial need.

2019 AHO Scholarship Awards

Aggies Helping Others in partnership with Tejas Cookers, awarded a total of $12,000. In scholarships to deserving students in the Houston area. This partnership will help establish a “footprint” signifying the impact of the Texas A&M CityCentre campus has made in the Houston community. In the spirit of “selfless service”, Aggies make a positive impact wherever they live, work or study.

We want to personally thank Texas A&M Executive MBA class 2020 for making this possible through your generous donations.

Matthew Thomas was awarded $500 toward his college education. A graduate of the Urban Enrichment Institute, Matthew will study Social Work at Texas Southern University this fall. Matthew is with the AHO Chairmen (Forrester Goodrich and James Dwyer) along with Tejas Cookers board members Travis Lemos and fellow Aggie Salvador Almazan)

Alexis Granados was awarded $750 towards her college education. Alexis will study Nursing at Sam Houston State University this fall.

2018 AHO Holiday Donation Drive

Aggies Helping Others 2018 Holiday Donation Drive was a HUGE success, resulting in $2,590.00 collected from our EMBA, PMBA and MS in Analytics classes at the CityCentre campus in Houston, Texas. Their generous giving will be donated to the Houston Food Bank where for every dollar raised, the food bank can obtain and distribute $6 in food (current market prices), enough for three meals.

EMBA Class 2020 led the donation drive by donating $1,160! AHO has partnered with Tejas Cookers to select recipients for our inaugural scholarship fund. Two scholarships will be awarded to deserving Houston HS Seniors this summer in their class name!

Thanks to all the generous Aggies who donated to make these awards possible.

2017 AHO Food Drive

The 2017 Food Drive campaign was a success. We were able to continue our tradition of donating to the area food banks.

For the 2017 campaign, we donated to both Houston Food Bank and Montgomery County Food Banks. Those donations provided ~12,000 meals to Houston area citizens suffering from food insecurity.

2016 AHO Food Drive

Donations received during the 2016 Aggies Helping Others Food Drive and fundraising campaign were multiplied exponentially. Those donations provided ~16,000 meals to Houston area citizens suffering from food insecurity.

Through partnerships Aggies Helping Others has developed, every dollar donated equals ~four meals, or can be turned into 6 pounds of food (or more based on market conditions).

Thank You very much for your generosity, you helped to… BTHO (Beat The Hell Outta) Hunger!

2015 AHO Golf Tournament

Dear Golf Tournament Participant or Donor,

Howdy!!

The Aggies Helping Others board is working to wrap up the final numbers from the golf tournament, but we couldn’t let this week pass without sending along a most heartfelt THANK YOU for your generosity!

Aside from end of year giving or additional giving toward the yearly food drive, the golf tournament is the Aggies Helping Others’ largest fundraiser.

Several of you said you “will be back next year,” so we look forward to your participation in next year’s tournament. If you have a desire to be of “self-less service” and would like to volunteer with Aggies Helping Others, contact us and let us know.

Again, thank you to all who came out and participated or donated via the Aggies Helping Others website.

Sincerely,

Aggies Helping Others Board

2015 AHO Crawfish Boil🦐

April 2015, Aggies Helping Others had its first fundraising event of 2015. The event was a great success helping the foundation by raising money which will defray the foundation’s start-up costs. The Aggies Helping Others Board of Directors wishes to thank all those who participated, the generous donors, and corporate sponsors.

In 2010, a group of Texas A&M Executive MBA class XII students decided to organize a food drive for the Houston Food Bank. A short five years later, the food drive has grown exponentially (from ~500 lb. donated in 2010 to over 40,000 lb. donated in 2014), but those same Texas A&M former students have launched this non-profit foundation, Aggies Helping Others.

In the true spirit of Texas A&M’s selfless service, the foundation strives to support the health and well-being of everyone in need, through donations, events, and special programs. Aggies Helping Others supports individuals and the community at large.

Rich Goodrich was our cook for the event.

A special thanks to our sponsors!
